AC Hands Out Reliever of the Year Friday, October 10th , 2025 António Fontanez said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 25 years old. But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the New Orleans Zephyrs rising star has won the American Conference Reliever of the Year for 2025. He captured the award on the strength of his 1.98 ERA over 95.1 innings. He also had 14 saves in 49 relief appearances, 78 strikeouts and only 23 walks. He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Zander Hughes of the Albuquerque Isotopes finished second in voting, while Joe Cameron of the Memphis Redbirds finished third.
