Storm Chasers Pitching Ravaged by Weaver Thursday, August 20th , 2026 A jubilant Jeremy Weaver joined the postgame press conference at Werner Park to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Omaha Storm Chasers pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Memphis Redbirds catcher, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 19-9 Redbirds win. "He made it look easy," said Rajai Davis, manager of the Storm Chasers. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Jeremy Weaver singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Stan Spencer in the 9th. So far on the season, Weaver is hitting .275 with 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 69 hits and played in 71 games. View Boxscore |
