Gómez Suspended, Out 4 Games Wednesday, August 26th , 2026 Reno will not have the services of left fielder José Gómez for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 4 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the Salt Lake Bees and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Gómez slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. Gómez is hitting .273 this year with 6 home runs, 55 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 101 hits in 370 at-bats, 45 walks and a .351 on-base percentage. Gómez has played in 104 games. |
