EL Awards Player of the Week Trophy Monday, May 11th , 2026 Not every ball that came off Jimmy Taylor's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot -- it just seemed that way to the teams that played the New Britain Rock Cats. For his exploits, Taylor was named this week's Eastern League Player of the Week award. The New Britain shortstop put up 13 hits in 21 at-bats and no home runs while hitting .619 with 7 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
