Akron Snaps Duffy Streak at 21 Saturday, May 23rd , 2026 His run was over, but a Erie victory took some of the disappointment out of Jim Duffy losing his 21-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old third baseman did not get a hit in 3 at-bats, but the SeaWolves whipped the Akron RubberDucks, 6-1, at Jerry Uht Park. "I did it on purpose just to get you all off my back," Duffy joked with reporters. "You're going to put in your stories that I said this as a joke, but what if it wasn't?"
