5-Hit Barrage by Cabrera
Wednesday, May 27th , 2026
Altoona first baseman Jorge Cabrera had a big day at People's Natural Gas Field against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 5-4 Curve triumph over New Hampshire.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Cabrera said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Jorge Cabrera singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Andriu Martin in the 11th.
Cabrera is currently batting .261 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 24 hits in 92 at-bats.
