Binghamton Hexed: No-Hit by O'Brian
Wednesday, July 29th , 2026
The Bowie Baysox were just hoping for a solid outing from Jeff O'Brian. Instead, they got something special.
The 26-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Binghamton Mets, helping the Baysox take the 1-0 win.
"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Baysox. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
O'Brian's repertoire has a curveball, cutter, and changeup, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Binghamton hitters off balance all game long. The Bowie hurler fanned 5 and walked 5 in his history-making performance.
"His curveball looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Binghamton manager Lee Tinsley joked after the game.
Checking out his stats for the season, O'Brian has racked up 4 wins and 11 losses in 20 starts, posted a 4.88 ERA, and struck out 108 batters in 120 innings.
