Smith Wins TEX Player of the Week Prize Monday, August 25th , 2025 Frisco fans have something to crow about today as Frisco shortstop Bob Smith nabbed the Texas League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Smith. He posted a .455 average (10-for-22) this past week with 1 home run, 6 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. For the season, Smith is batting .288 with 116 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 75 times and batted in 38. |
