Merico Batters Frisco for 6 Hits Wednesday, June 10th , 2026 A jubilant Lino Merico joined the postgame press conference at Dr. Pepper Ballpark to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Frisco RoughRiders pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Midland RockHounds left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 6-for-7 hitting performance, which led to the 28-4 RockHounds win. "He made it look easy," said Mike Breyman, manager of the RoughRiders. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Lino Merico hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 8th.
