Neal Tags Hooks for 5 Hits Tuesday, August 11th , 2026 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Ron Neal of the Springfield Cardinals. Neal went on a tear at Hammons Field and cracked hit after hit off Corpus Christi pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 23-year-old third baseman had a career 5-for-5 day and something he will long remember. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell them we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview. Despite Neal's personal accolades, the Corpus Christi Hooks walked off the field with the 16-15 win. Ron Neal hit a three-run home run off Jimmy Rollins Jr. in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
