San Antonio Stops Ayala Hit Streak Friday, August 28th , 2026 Midland right fielder Juan Jose Ayala experienced something against the San Antonio Missions he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Missions pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 21 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the RockHounds to a 4-3 victory at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 21-game hitting streak," Ayala joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." For the season, Ayala has hit .350 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs. He has played in 30 games and scored 21 times. |
