Rancho Cucamonga Triumph Powered by Herrera's 5 Hits Sunday, July 5th , 2026 José Herrera exploded for a barrage of base hits at LoanMart Field. The Rancho Cucamonga second baseman had a field day in his team's 9-0 triumph over the San Jose Giants, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Herrera must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. José Herrera doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Rivera in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
