Stockton-Bakersfield Fight Results in Suspensions Monday, August 3rd , 2026 Yesterday at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark Art Thompson and Dave Davis got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Stockton Ports and Bakersfield Blaze. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Thompson will have to sit out 4 while Davis would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. During the current season Thompson is batting at a .245 clip with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs. He has played in 76 games and scored 23 times. This season, Davis has compiled a 1-0 mark with a 4.86 ERA in 0 starts. |
