López Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Potomac Sunday, August 9th , 2026 The Potomac Nationals did something to Jorge López no team had done for the last 23 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Mudcats, who came away with the 4-3 victory at Grainger Stadium. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 22-year-old catcher said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." For the year, López has hit at a .252 clip with 35 RBIs, 2 home runs and 25 runs scored. |
