Quintero Goes 5-for-6 Against Frederick Sunday, August 23rd , 2026 Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Esteban Quintero said his club's tilt with the Frederick Keys "felt almost like batting practice." The 23-year-old starting pitcher went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate. "I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later. However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Salem Red Sox, who were topped by the Keys, 14-13. "It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Red Sox manager Jose Nieves said. "Sometimes Esteban is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose." Esteban Quintero singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 10th and hit a two-run triple in the 11th.
