Castro Hits 3 Homers Against Kane County Monday, August 17th , 2026 Burlington Bees left fielder José Castro sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Kane County Cougars, Castro told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Castro pushed the Bees past the Cougars, 12-3. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Castro told reporters after the game. José Castro hit a solo-shot off Sergio Cruz in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Duane St. Jean in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Kevin Wright in the 7th. So far this year, Castro has 6 home runs and a .260 batting average. |
