Saturday, August 16th , 2025
Cleveland (AZL) Guardians third baseman Chris Ballard had a magnificent game against the Kansas City (AZL) Royals, rocketing three balls out of Surprise Stadium to help the Guardians win, 11-9.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Ballard went 4-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Cleveland (AZL) manager Chad Duesler said later. "Seems like Chris found his home run stroke today."
Chris Ballard hit a solo-shot off Robbie O'Keefe in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Robbie O'Keefe in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Clarence Randull in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
At present, Ballard is batting .367 with 33 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 17 runs and scored 13 times.
