Oakland (AZL) Halts Armitage's Hitting Steak Friday, August 29th , 2025 It was a doubly miserable day for Norm Armitage of the Chicago N (AZL) Cubs, as he saw his 28-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 6-3, to the Oakland (AZL) Athletics at Cubs Park. The 22-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Athletics. "Anyone on a 28-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Oakland (AZL) manager Shawn Denton said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." In the current season, Armitage has put up a .303 batting average with 72 hits, 9 home runs, 39 RBI and scored 38 runs. |
