Thomas Belts 5 Hits Sunday, August 31st , 2025 No matter what the Chicago N (AZL) Cubs threw at him, Eric Thomas hit it. He easily handled Cubs pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Mariners triumph, 10-2, at Peoria Sports Complex. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Thomas's quip, Cubs skipper Steve Fisher said he "would take him up on that next time." Eric Thomas singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 7th. On the season, Thomas is batting .314 with 7 home runs and 47 RBIs.
