AZL Hands Out Reliever of the Year Sunday, September 28th , 2025 He may only be 21, but Johnathan Lamere of the Oakland (AZL) Athletics has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Arizona Rookie League. The reliever was today named the AZL Reliever of the Year winner for 2025. He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 9 saves in 16 relief appearances and 60 strikeouts in 49.2 innings. He had a record of 4-0 to go with his 1.09 ERA. He received 14 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Willie Horn of the Chicago A (AZL) White Sox finished second in voting, while Rob Riley of the Cincinnati (AZL) Reds finished third.
