Best Player Named by Arizona Rookie League
Thursday, October 2nd , 2025
At the age of 23, Mike Evans of the Chicago A (AZL) White Sox could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2025 was good enough to win the second baseman the Arizona Rookie League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .482 batting average this year, as well as a .512 on-base percentage. He played 55 games and racked up 109 hits, 27 doubles, 4 triples, 6 home runs, 40 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 14. Ken Bush of the Seattle (AZL) Mariners finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Clarence Ackerman of the Arizona (AZL) Diamondbacks finished third with 2 first place votes.
