ACL Snaps Salgado Streak at 21
Friday, August 14th , 2026
For once, it was the ACL Mariners picking up the slack for Luis Salgado.
The club's "offensive catalyst," as ACL manager Casey Lawrence has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent and saw his 21-game hitting streak snapped by the ACL Rockies. Salgado was bailed out by the rest of the Mariners, however, who stopped the Rockies, 6-3.
The 18-year-old second baseman finished the day 0-for-4, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."
"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."
So far this season, Salgado is hitting .400 with 1 home run.
