Blackburn Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, August 29th , 2025 Steve Blackburn, catcher for the Miami (GCL) Marlins, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 12-4 victory over the Washington (GCL) Nationals at Roger Dean Stadium. "Not the outcome we wanted," Washington (GCL) manager Wade Davis said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Steve Blackburn flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This season, Blackburn is batting .330 with 2 home runs. He has scored 14 runs and driven in 21. |
