Cruz Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Thursday, August 6th , 2026 It was a high-five day for Jesús Cruz, at least for a while. The FCL catcher got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the FCL Phillies, but they were in short supply at the end, as FCL won the game, 8-5. Cruz finished with an impressive 5-for-10 line, but the Tigers couldn't hold off the Phillies. "Jesús was hitting everything," said Tigers manager Mike Hauschild. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Jesús Cruz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, flied out in the 14th, singled in the 17th, struck out in the 19th and struck out in the 22nd.
