Black's Strong Week Earns FCL Trophy Monday, August 31st , 2026 FCL fans have something to crow about today as FCL shortstop Chris Black nabbed the Florida Complex League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Black. He posted a .520 average (13-for-25) this past week with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 8 runs scored. On the year, Black has hit .341 with 6 home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 28 runs. |
