Power Pull Off Thrilling 3-2 Win in Extras
Fans of the West Virginia Power who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a West Virginia win over the visiting Charleston RiverDogs, 3-2. Darryl Jones started for the home team against Stan Lester. Stan Lester earned accolades for his performance. The win belonged to Rhett Fuller in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Edgar López took the loss for Charleston.

The Power got a clutch hit from designated hitter Ron Turner. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Power.

"This place was electric at the end," Turner said.
