Hammers Suffer 5-1 Road Loss
The Hagerstown Suns ushered in the 2026 season with a win versus the Rome Hammers at Municipal Stadium. The final score was 5-1. Starting Pitcher Jim Richmond had a standout performance.

The Hammers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Suns going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old second baseman Stéphane Perin came to the plate. Perin hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 splitter from Rome hurler Theron Ryan. It was Perin's 2nd double of the year.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Perin said after the game.
