Fans of the Greenville Drive who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Greenville win over the visiting Augusta GreenJackets, 3-1. Esteban Quintero started for the home team against Dave Allen. Esteban Quintero earned accolades for his performance. Dan Bennett earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

Greenville took a 2-1 lead on Tim Lamm's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Lamm hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Augusta pitcher Sean Owens visibly frustrated.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Quintero told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
