Grasshoppers Win by Slim Margin, 3-2

The Hagerstown Suns and Greensboro Grasshoppers provided some drama for the home crowd.
Hagerstown got a terrific performance from pitcher Cristóbal García, but it wasn't enough to beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Greensboro won the NewBridge Bank Park contest, 3-2. García threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. Doug Davis snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Dan Bowers suffered the loss. Tony López stitched up the save, his 2nd.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jim McLaughlin came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Hagerstown pitcher Dan Bowers, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Greensboro on top, 3-2.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Lonnie Chisenhall.
Greensboro, now 3-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
