Intimidators Earn Clutch Win, 2-1
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators used a great performance from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Díaz to beat the Savannah Sand Gnats, 2-1, at Grayson Stadium. Savannah now has a record of 4-1.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jeff Picot? The 23-year old shortstop Picot stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Kannapolis up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Picot said.
