Hammers Suffer 2-1 Home Defeat
The Savannah Sand Gnats earned a close win over the Rome Hammers, thanks in part to Steve Randolph. The Savannah left-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Rome is 4-5 after the loss.

Leo Pollard had a direct impact on the outcome. Pollard contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Savannah up, 2-1.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Pollard.
