Kannapolis turned a good effort from starter Steve Murdoch into a win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The Intimidators won the game, 3-1. Greensboro now has a record of 7-3.

Kannapolis took a 3-1 lead on Sammy Simmons's 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Simmons hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Greensboro pitcher Ken Patrick visibly frustrated.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Intimidators manager Osamu Hamanaka. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
