Augusta Earns 3-2 Win
|
The Augusta GreenJackets electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
The West Virginia Power went down to defeat to Juan Carlos Hernández and his Augusta teammates. The final score was 3-2, in favor of the GreenJackets. With the loss, West Virginia falls to 8-5.
In the bottom of the seventh, with one out and the game tied, 1-1, 23-year old center fielder Monty James won it for Augusta. With a runner on 3rd, James hit a first pitch sinker from Loren Camacho for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said West Virginia manager German Melendez.
