The Hickory Crawdads trumped the Augusta GreenJackets, 9-4, at L.P. Frans Stadium. Hickory designated hitter Joe Holland was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Picking up the win was Jonathan Edwards. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 4. The GreenJackets fall to 5-10 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2026 season.

Jorge Betancourt had a big 2-run double for the Crawdads in the bottom of the third inning. With Hickory leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Ray and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Crawdads ahead, 3-0.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Betancourt.
