Savannah Loses, 8-6, to Kannapolis in 10
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators downed the Savannah Sand Gnats, 8-6, in 10 innings at Grayson Stadium. The Intimidators were led by Bernardo Díaz. Díaz was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win brings the Intimidators to 10-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Kannapolis needed the clutch hitting of Lúcio López to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Intimidators on top, 8-6. For the game, López had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Winning never gets old," said Intimidators manager Osamu Hamanaka.
