Spirited fans greeted the Lakewood BlueClaws for their clash with the West Virginia Power.

The West Virginia Power picked up a win at First Energy Park, dropping the Lakewood BlueClaws, 5-1. Joe Wolfe was the difference-maker. The BlueClaws fall to 8-10 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2025 season.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jimmy Songer? The 24-year old shortstop Songer stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put West Virginia up, 5-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Wolfe.
