The Lexington Legends faced a tough opponent in West Virginia pitcher Reggie McClain, but still scratched out a win at Appalachian Power Park by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. McClain went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jack Masson earned the save for Lexington, his 4th. The win takes Lexington to 8-11.

José Fernández came through with a big-time hit for Lexington. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Lexington manager Brad Lincoln commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
