Savannah center fielder Sean O'Connor made his presence felt in the 4-1 Sand Gnats triumph over the Augusta GreenJackets. O'Connor went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bob Morris, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 3 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-2. Picking up his 6th save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Lucero.
Mike Nance, who is tied for 7th in the SAL in doubles with 6, had a direct impact on the outcome. Nance contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Savannah up, 1-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," O'Connor told the Savannah Herald.
The GreenJackets drop to 6-14, as their fitful start to the 2026 campaign continues.
