Greenville Loses, 6-5, in 19
|
The Asheville Tourists and Greenville Drive put on quite a show.
The Asheville Tourists defeated the Greenville Drive, 6-5, at Fluor Field at the West End. Leading the charge for Asheville was second baseman José Colón. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and 6 walks. The winner was Asheville reliever Joe Fisher, now 2-1. The loser was Billy Rasmussen.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder José Bustamante came to bat in the top of the 19th. Facing Greenville pitcher Billy Rasmussen, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Asheville on top, 6-5.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Asheville manager Stan Bland.
Greenville, with the loss, is still a robust 17-5.
