4-3 Triumph Takes Greensboro to 15-8
|
The inspired effort of Asheville first baseman Juan Reyes was not enough to prevent a loss, 4-3, to the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Reyes went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tony López earned his 8th save, after closing out the game. The win gives Greensboro a record of 15-8.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Steve Lee? The Greensboro right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Grasshoppers on top, 2-1. For the game, Lee had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Greensboro manager J.A. Happ commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
