Hammers Win with Late Rally
The Rome Hammers did just enough to secure a victory over the Augusta GreenJackets, 4-3, in 10 innings at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Stephen Millar. Now 8-18, the GreenJackets have not played well this season.

Rome used the timely hitting of Lou Britt to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hammers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Stephen is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Rome manager Aaron Holbert.
