The Savannah Sand Gnats racked up a win at Grayson Stadium, bumping off the Greenville Drive, 3-2. Ed Harvey, who started for Savannah, pitched effectively for his team. Savannah reliever Dave Gaines was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Esteban Quintero took the loss. The Drive drop to 13-13 and continue their mediocre start to the 2026 season.

Had Curt Thompson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Thompson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sand Gnats.

Thompson called the win "a team effort."
