Koch leads offense as Shorebirds Squeeze Past West Virginia
The bats were silent much of the day at Appalachian Power Park. But 23-year old shortstop Jimmy Koch produced just enough offense to carry the Shorebirds past the West Virginia Power, 1-0. Koch threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The win gives Delmarva a season record of 19-10.

Chuck Ward had a direct impact on the outcome. Ward contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Delmarva up, 1-0.

"Nice, tidy little win," Koch said after the game.
