Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Kannapolis Intimidators and Hickory Crawdads.

The Kannapolis Intimidators earned a win at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, knocking off the Hickory Crawdads, 4-2. On the bump for Kannapolis was left-hander Joe Wood. He had a starring role in the triumph. Steve Murdoch earned save number 5 this season.

Joey Hawkins, who is tied for 4th in the SAL in home runs with 7, chipped in a run-scoring single for Kannapolis in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"Joe did a good job of shutting their lineup down," said Kannapolis manager Osamu Hamanaka.
