The Power grabbed a win, 3-0, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Kannapolis pitcher Tim Reyes. Reyes went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Arturo Acevedo came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. The Power improved their record to 14-19 by beating Kannapolis.

António Espinosa had a direct impact on the outcome. Espinosa contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put West Virginia up, 2-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Kannapolis skipper Carlos Mota, "and it cost us."
