The Lakewood BlueClaws topped the Asheville Tourists, 8-5, at First Energy Park. Lakewood shortstop Jim Fox was a spark plug for the offense. He went 4 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times. Lakewood, at 19-14, occupies second place in the Northern Division.

Lakewood took the lead, 8-5, on Ken Stephens's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Asheville pitcher Bertoldo Pertorini in the bottom of the eighth.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Fox told the Lakewood Bulletin.
