Sánchez belts 2 home runs as Shorebirds Squeeze Past Augusta
The Delmarva Shorebirds defeated the Augusta GreenJackets, 6-5, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Leading the charge for Delmarva was right fielder Mario Sánchez. He went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. The win went to Iván Velásquez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Loïc Comte took the loss. Delmarva currently is in second place in the Northern Division at 20-14.

Delmarva used the timely hitting of Clint Dunlap to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shorebirds on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Augusta manager Troy Tulowitzki. "The effort was great."
