|
Hagerstown first baseman José Rodríguez played a vital role in his team's 6-2 conquest of Savannah. He went 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 for Hagerstown. Tommy Young came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. Getting the save was Beau Brooks, his 1st.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mal James? The 23-year old right fielder James stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Hagerstown up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Nice to get this one," said Rodríguez. "We've been scuffling."
Hagerstown, with the win, climbs to 9-29.
