Shorebirds Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
Both teams had their chances, but the Delmarva Shorebirds eventually prevailed.

Led by 21-year-old Tony Castro, the Delmarva Shorebirds downed the Asheville Tourists, 8-7. Castro was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Delmarva. Robinson García closed the game out for Delmarva, earning his 15th save.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Bernardo Álvarez? The Delmarva designated hitter had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shorebirds on top, 8-7. For the game, Álvarez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We maximized our offense today," said Delmarva skipper Tripp Keister. "That makes everyone's life easier."
