Baca Powers Grasshoppers Offense
The 8-1 Greensboro win over West Virginia was due in large part to José Baca. The Grasshoppers designated hitter was 3-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Sam David earned the win for Greensboro. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 6-0. With the win, the Grasshoppers hiked their record to 27-14.

The Grasshoppers got a big hit from left fielder Joey Murphy. Facing West Virginia pitcher Isaac Roberson in the bottom of the sixth, Murphy pounded a bases-clearing triple to left-center. His 1st triple of the season put the Grasshoppers ahead, 5-1.

"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Baca after the game.
