Greensboro had no answer for Delmarva Shorebirds starter Aurelio Gobbi, who flummoxed Grasshoppers hitters as the Shorebirds cruised to victory, 11-1. Gobbi picked up the win for Delmarva, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0. With the win over Greensboro, the Shorebirds improved to 29-12.

Chuck Ward was 1 for 4, while scoring 3 for Delmarva. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tony Grant. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
